Cats as livestock guardians

We've been researching livestock guardian animals a lot lately ... with our continuing to add flock based animals and the free ranging chickens it seems like a good idea. But then, I was out with the chickens this morning and what do you know, good ol' Bootsy is doing his part to keep watch. Maybe we don't need a dog?
