How does "Google" find The Farmstead?
One of my favorite things is looking at the terms people googled to find our site. Here’s a wrap-up of some of the more bizarre ones: “did chicken deside from dynasours” Ah…a googler after my own heart. I can only assume they were wondering if chickens descended from dinosaurs. Well dear internet searcher, I can safely tell you, yes, I believe they did…it’s one of the reasons I love them.
“large enemas to girls with constipation” Hmmmm…I don’t know what else this search would have returned for this user, but I’m sure google presented our article, “Olive Oil Enema for Chicken Constipation”. Let’s leave it at that.
“Ugly Breed Sow” Well, I never! I’m offended for all our beautiful hogs that such a search term brought people to our site. I mean…look at this face. Tell me that’s not beautiful.
“rachael proactiv” and “proactiv rachael” Over 20 people found our site in 2013 by searching for some combination of my name and proactiv. Yes, I was in a proactiv commercial. No, I didn’t get paid. Yes, I used to use it. No, I don’t anymore. When we started the farm and began growing and raising our own food my adult onset acne cleared up on its own. I now simply wash with our very own goat’s milk soap.
“air force academy nose tackle named nick” This one makes me laugh. Five people googled this term in 2013. The Handsome Man was the starting Nose Tackle for the Fighting Falcons…watching him play from the sidelines while we were cadets at The Air Force Academy is one of my favorite memories of that place. Whenever he would make a particularly awesome play he would always point at me in the stands…talk about making a little girl’s heart swoon ;) Speaking of which…
“marriage is the best thing in the whole world” Awe. That’s cute. Four people found our site in 2013 when they googled this phrase. I don’t think it’s any secret that The Handsome Man and I love each other. And not just that, we have a mutual respect and admiration for the people we were, the people we are, and the people we will become. This year we’ll celebrate 13 years together (we met when I was 18!) and I still get twitter-paited when he walks in the room. In 2013 we welcomed our daughter into the world which has made me fall even more in love with him…we truly are the luckiest kids in the world.
